The Idaho Fish and Game Commission approved a restrictive season for sage-grouse.

Wolf trapping certification courses scheduled in Salmon, Grangeville, and Lewiston

Idaho rules require prospective wolf trappers to successfully complete a Wolf Trapper Certification course before they can purchase wolf trapping tags.

Red Top Pond gets big improvements for anglers

Sockeye run to Sawtooth Basin already tops last year's total

Fish and Game officials reported that 85 sockeye have returned to the Sawtooth Basin near Stanley, compared with 56 last year. There's still about six weeks to go for this year's sockeye run.

Dworshak Kokanee Salmon Update - August 2016

August 1 is the deadline to purchase controlled hunt tags; discounted second elk tags also go on sale

Big game hunters who drew controlled hunt tags for deer, elk, pronghorn and black bear have until midnight Mountain Daylight Time, August 1 to buy their tags.

Tags may be purchased at any Fish and Game office, any vendor or by telephone at (800-554-8685), or online from the Fish and Game website.
