To hunt and fish in Idaho you will need a license, and you may need a tag or permit, as well. Below is a full list of licenses, tags and permits and how much they cost for nonresident hunters and anglers..

Are you a resident?

To purchase a resident license, tag, or permit you need to have lived in the State of Idaho for six consecutive months immediately prior to buying a hunting and fishing license. Not sure if you are a resident? Check Idaho’s residency requirements.

Controlled Hunt Information

Idaho has both controlled and general season hunts. General season tags are available on a first-come, first served basis. Hunters need to apply for controlled hunts, which are issued through a random drawing.
