Hunter Education Instructors
Apply to teach hunter education
To teach hunter education, you need to be a certified instructor. Instructors can specialize as hunting, bowhunting and/or trapping instructors.
To apply, you need to:
- be at least 18 years old
- be knowledgeable about sporting arms, wildlife and hunting.
Complete the instructor application and send it to the Hunter Education Coordinator at your regional Fish and Game office.
What happens after you apply?
After you submit your application, you will be scheduled for fingerprinting and a confidential background check by the State Department of Law Enforcement. Next, we provide orientation and training, which includes observing and assisting a veteran instructor.
