New access easement opens route to public lands in Kelsaw Canyon

idfg-Kenzie.Baratti

Hunters and recreationists will now have access into Kelsaw Canyon in game management unit 57 this falls thanks to a partnership between Arimo Corporation, the U.S. Forest Service, and Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

The access provides a route into public lands in Kelsaw Canyon.

However, hunters and other recreationists are reminded that this agreement provides road access only. The private property on either side of the road remains closed to public access.

To help maintain this access opportunity and respect the landowner, recreationists are advised to follow these guidelines:

  • Road access only: Stay on the designated road and do not access private property on either side.
  • No hunting on private property: Hunting without written permission is not allowed on the private land adjacent to the road.
  • Do not park on the road or on Arimo Corporation property: Vehicles should not be parked along the access road or on private property.
  • Respect private property: Stay on the designated access route and leave gates, fences and other property as you find them.

Idaho Fish and Game appreciates Arimo Corporation and the U.S. Forest Service for working together to provide this access opportunity. It is imperative that hunters and recreationists respect the terms of this agreement and the private property surrounding this route.

For more information about public access opportunities, please contact the Magic Valley Regional Office at (208) 324-4359.
