Gates to open two weeks early for motorized vehicles at Portneuf Wildlife Management Area
Three access gates within Idaho Fish and Game’s Portneuf Wildlife Management Area will now open May 15 to allow for motorized vehicle travel on three of the WMA roads. Previously, these gates would not open until June 1 every year.

Temporary area closure within Edson Fichter Nature Area due to pathway work
On Monday, May 4, Idaho Fish and Game will temporarily close access to Ardith’s Garden within Edson Fichter Nature Area in Pocatello. Construction of a new pathway from the amphitheater to the garden is being donated by a Pocatello business, Iron Horse Asphalt.
F&G begins annual grizzly bear research trapping in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest
As part of ongoing efforts to monitor the population of grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, biologists from Idaho Fish and Game will begin annual research trapping grizzly bears in the Upper Snake Region beginning in May.
