2024 Bird Seed Sale
Help support the MK Nature Center by purchasing premium bird seed during the 2024 MK Nature Center Annual Bird Seed Sale! This year the sale is December 6th and 7thfrom 9a.m. to 5p.m. each day.
There will also be a large selection of nature themed holiday gift items, birding guides, children's books, toys, jewelry and much more!
The Idaho Fish and Game MK Nature Center offers a unique wildlife experience on a 4.6-acre site along the Boise River Greenbelt. The StreamWalk and Visitor Center provide a glimpse of Idaho's many landscapes and abundant wildlife. Underwater viewing windows along the stream walk give visitors a fish-eye view of the world.
Visitor Center and Gift Shop
The visitor's center houses a variety of educational displays focusing on Idaho's wildlife and habitats. Taxidermy and artwork help visitors explore these topics. An observation beehive gives visitors and up-close look at the activity in the hive while also learning the importance of pollinators. The auditorium viewing windows offer opportunities to watch birds as they visit feeders. Make sure to stop by the gift shop for nature-themed gifts. Please note, the center is closed on Mondays, all Federal holidays, Christmas and New Years Eve.
The nature center paths and outdoor viewing areas are open year-round from dawn to dusk.

MK Nature Center in Boise welcomes five Upper Columbia River sockeye salmon
On Sept. 20, five Upper Columbia River sockeye salmon arrived at the MK Nature Center in Boise—and yes, they had a little help from the tanker truck. Come on down to the nature center and see these big fish for yourselves!
MK Nature Center Announces Fall Evening Lecture Lineup
The MK Nature Center will be hosting four evening lectures this fall for adults! All lectures are at MK Nature Center (600 S. Walnut Street), start at 6:30, are free, and are designed for adults. Mark your calendars and join us in learning more about wildlife and wildlife management in Idaho!
