Handguns 101 skills course will be hosted at the Farragut Shooting Range Center in the Panhandle Region on May 6

Idaho Fish and Game staff along with NRA certified instructors will again be teaching Handguns 101 – A Fundamentals Workshop on May 6 at the Farragut Shooting Range Center in Athol.

The class is geared toward new or potential gun owners with little or no experience with handguns.

Mule deer near Homedale tests positive for bluetongue virus

Idaho Fish and Game received a positive detection for bluetongue — a virus transmitted by gnats that is similar to Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) — in a yearling, male mule deer collected west of Homedale along the Snake River. Coyote conflicts with off-leash dogs continue in the Boise foothills

Another year of South Fork steelhead broodstock collection success

Fish and Game fisheries staff started collecting broodstock fish on the South Fork of the Clearwater River on Feb. 3 and wrapped up March 23. Volunteer anglers tubed 781 steelhead, and 580 (295 females and 285 males) of those met the hatchery origin and length requirements for broodstock.
