Survey shows Lake Cascade's perch population remains strong

Since 2012, Fish and Game fisheries staff in McCall has annually conducted fall fishery surveys on Lake Cascade. We sample all fish populations in the lake, which helps manage all game fish in the reservoir.

2017 was a good year for baby sturgeon in the portions of the Snake River

A baby sturgeon captured in October 2017 above CJ Strike Reservoir. Young sturgeon have incredibly sharp scutes (bony plates) to protect them from predators. Young sturgeon can grow quickly when conditions are right. This one is about 5 months old.

Wolverine inadvertently taken by trapper in Salmon area
