Completing a Field Day is required for students who take online course

If your sights are set on hunting this fall and you still need to complete Idaho’s hunter education requirement, now is a good time to sign up for a course.

A hunter education Field Day is scheduled in Salmon July 17 for those who have completed or are working to complete the online hunter education course. The Field Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Fish and Game’s Salmon Regional office at 99 Highway 93 North.

Space is limited and registration is required. To register for this course or to learn about Idaho’s hunter education requirement, visit Fish and Game’s hunter education webpage or the Fish and Game office, 99 Highway 93 North in Salmon. Students are asked to bring their online voucher to the Field Day as proof of having completed the online course.

Anyone born after January 1, 1975 must complete a hunter education course as a prerequisite to purchasing a hunting license. The online course option requires students to register and attend a Field Day where a field exercise and written exam are given. Most of the classroom topics will pertain to Idaho-specific regulations and issues that are not covered in this online course.  After attending and passing the Field Day, students will receive their hunter education certification.
