Browse speciesThe Idaho Fish and Game Citizens Shooting Range Advisory Committee will hold its first meeting on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. MST at Fish and Game's headquarters building at 600 S. Walnut Street in Boise. There will be no opportunities for public comment or interaction with the committee during the meeting.
The goal of the project is to reduce elk damage on agricultural land caused by a year-round herd, which last year exceeded $1 million in this area. The herd has grown to 350 animals over the last five years despite efforts by hunters, landowners and Fish and Game to reduce elk numbers and associated crop damages.

All nonresident deer/elk tags drawn (except disabled American veteran (DAV) tags) must be purchased no later than Jan. 20 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Any tags (except DAV) tags not purchased by the deadline will be forfeited and available in the second tag drawing.
