Sandhill crane tags available starting August 1

Hunters are reminded that Sandhill crane will be available on a first-come first-served basis beginning at 10 a.m. (MDT) August 1.

Super Hunts live up to their names in 2015

There’s time to apply for Idaho’s best hunts, but it's going fast. The deadline to apply for Super Hunts is Aug. 10, and you can buy as many chances you want. Super Hunt tags are available for deer, elk, moose, pronghorn, and one Super Hunt combo, which includes one tag for each of those species.

Trout Fishing on the St. Joe is in Full Swing

Fly  fishing has been good to downright hot on the St. Joe this year.  Flows are now getting low enough that most of the river is wadeable.  Last year's trend surveys showed the abundance of 12 inch and bigger fish has continued to improve.

More Chinook released in the Boise River

A third round of Chinook salmon was stocked in the Boise River Thursday, July 14.

Idaho Fish and Game released close to 150 salmon, a mixture of adults and Jacks, at the Glenwood, West Parkcenter, Barber Park and Americana release sites.

Fall Chinook fishing to open September 1

Idaho Fish and Game Commission adopted a fall Chinook salmon fishing season to open September 1 on parts of the Snake, Clearwater and Salmon rivers.

Commission releases bighorn tags for auction and lottery

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission released two 2017 bighorn sheep tags, one for lottery and one for auction, at its meeting in Jerome, Thursday, July 7.
