Fish and Game Commissioners to Meet in Salmon

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet July 18 and 19 in Salmon. The two-day quarterly meeting will start with a field trip at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, and a public comment period at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be at the Fish and Game regional office in Salmon. On Thursday, July 19, the commissioners will consider, take action on, and hear presentations on a variety of items including the release of bighorn sheep tags for auction and lottery, the expenditure of animal damage control funds, legislative proposals and migratory game birds. They will hear updates on the new licensing contractor, Outdoor Central, and the department's mule deer management plan, and consider the rules for Access Yes landowner appreciation permits in Unit 45. After lunch commissioners will discuss potential options for muzzleloader equipment rules. They will hear an update on the spring and summer Chinook run size and fishery wrap up. The two-day session will wind up with an executive session about 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
