First Super Hunt Drawing Complete
idfg-staff
The first drawing for Idaho's 2005 Super Hunt is complete and the winners are being notified.
One lucky hunter was present at the live drawing when his name was pulled out of the hopper, not once but twice. John Robinson of Kuna was drawn for an elk Super Hunt tag as well as a pronghorn antelope Super Hunt tag. The drawing was held at Fish and Game headquarters in Boise June 15.
A person holding a Super Hunt tag is allowed to participate in any open hunt for the species they draw, including controlled hunts. The winner of the Super Hunt combo tag can hunt any open hunt for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, and moose this year. Super Hunt winners can harvest the animal for which they draw above and beyond any general season or controlled hunt tags they already hold. All other rules of individual hunts apply.
The second Super Hunt drawing will take place on August 15. At that time, Fish and Game will award Super Hunt tags for two deer, two elk, two pronghorn antelope, one moose, and one Super Hunt combo tag. Applications for the second Super Hunt drawing must be received by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game by August 10. The final day to request applications on the Fish and Game website or by telephone will be July 30. Applications from the first drawing will not go into the second drawing.
