Press Release

Draw results available for spring turkey controlled hunts

Didn't draw? Youth, general spring seasons provide additional opportunities

The spring turkey controlled hunt drawing results are available through Fish and Game’s licensing system. Hunters who already have an account can check to see if they drew controlled hunt permits for spring turkey at https://idfg.huntfishidaho.net/login.

Those without an online license system account can get step-by-step instructions on the Controlled Hunt Results web page.

There are  five leftover youth controlled hunt tags in Hunt 9002 (in Unit 36B-1), which will go on sale April 1 at 10 a.m. MDT. They can be purchased at Fish and Game offices, license vendors or online, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hunters whose names were drawn can buy the controlled hunt permit through the online license system. The permit will be mailed to them after purchase. If they do not yet have a general turkey tag, they will need to purchase that as well. Hunters who drew can also purchase their permit and tag at any license vendor, Idaho Fish and Game regional office, or at Fish and Game headquarters (MK Nature Center) in Boise.

Hunters who were successful in the draw will still receive a notification cards by mail by early April, however, it is the responsibility of hunters to find out whether their names were drawn in these hunts. Those who do not have access to the internet can either wait to receive their notification card, or visit a Fish and Game license vendor to determine if they drew a permit.

For those who didn’t draw a controlled hunt permit, there are still turkey hunting opportunities to be had in many areas of the state, including the spring youth turkey hunt, which runs from April 8 through April 14, and the general spring season, which runs from April 15 through May 25. There is also an expanded general youth only hunt in a portion of Southwest Idaho that runs April 8 through May 25.

For more information and to find out which units are open for the general spring turkey season, consult the Upland Game, Turkey and Furbearer Seasons and Rules brochure for the 2020-21 seasons.
