Comments Sought on 2009 Salmon Season

Salmon anglers are encouraged to provide their comments on the upcoming salmon fishing season by attending any of five Idaho Department of Fish and Game public meetings scheduled throughout the Lewiston area. Regional fishery personnel will provide a brief overview of prior seasons, especially the 2008 season; review factors related to 2009 projected Chinook salmon returns, and explain fishery constraints that Fish and Game operates within. Each meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the following locations:

• Lewiston: February 17, Idaho Fish and Game office, 3316 16th Street.
• Orofino: February 18, Fish and Game Clearwater Hatchery, 118 Hatchery Roe Drive, northwest of Ahsahka Bridge.
• Kooskia: February 19, Kooskia Community Center, 26 Main Street.
• Grangeville: February 23, Super 8 Motel, 801 W South 1st Street.
• Riggins: February 24 (6 p.m. Mountain Time), Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge, 1010 S Main Street.
