Provide input on proposed changes to 2022 deer and elk seasons in response to Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) detection in Unit 14 and Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) that unexpectedly reduced white-tailed deer herds in the Clearwater Region.
Unit 14 Hunts and CWD Detection
Public Comment Period: February 22 to March 13, 2022
View proposed changes to Unit 14 deer and elk seasons to address chronic wasting disease (CWD), which was detected for the first time in Idaho in Unit 14 in fall 2021.
After reviewing your feedback, these proposals will be presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission at their March 23-24 meeting.
White-tailed Deer Hunts Impacted by EHD
Public Comment Period: February 22 to March 13, 2022
In 2021, the white-tailed deer population experienced an outbreak of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) primarily in Hunt Units 8, 8A, 10A, 11, 11A, 14 and 16 in the Clearwater Region. We are recommending reductions to extra antlerless white-tailed deer hunting opportunity for the following hunts:
- 2022 Controlled Hunts - Youth Only - Extra Antlerless Deer
- 2022 Controlled Hunts - Extra Antlerless Deer
After reviewing your feedback, these proposals will be presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission at their March 23-24 meeting.
