Chronic Wasting Disease - Sampling Areas

Although the disease has not been found in Idaho, the prevalence of CWD has been expanding in some neighboring states. In response, Idaho Fish and Game has updated its CWD strategy and monitoring efforts.

Idaho Fish and Game’s updated sampling protocol groups hunting units into population management units or PMUs. These are indicated by different colors in this map. Sampling efforts will rotate to different PMUs every year.
