2022 Big Game Season Setting Updates

View proposed changes to Unit 14 deer and elk seasons to address chronic wasting disease (CWD), which was detected for the first time in Idaho in Unit 14 in fall 2021.

After reviewing your feedback, these proposals will be presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission at their March 23-24 meeting.

 

White-tailed Deer Hunts Impacted by EHD

In 2021, the white-tailed deer population experienced an outbreak of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) primarily in Hunt Units 8, 8A, 10A, 11, 11A, 14 and 16 in the Clearwater Region. We are recommending reductions to extra antlerless white-tailed deer hunting opportunity for the following hunts:
