Irrigators in Salmon Region asked to contact Fish and Game before turning ditch water on this spring

To keep fish out of irrigation ditches, irrigators who divert water from local rivers and streams are asked to contact Idaho Fish and Game’s Anadromous Fish Screen Program at 208-756-6022 at least one week prior to turning their water on.

Study to monitor swan health in the Lower Basin of the Coeur d'Alene River in North Idaho

The Lower Basin of the Coeur d’Alene River consists of thousands of acres of wetland habitat that lie along the migration corridor for the Tundra Swan. Over 150 years of mining in the Silver Valley have deposited contaminated mine tailings and sediment into the marshes and floodplains of the Lower Basin.

Fish and Game continues to work with Idaho Parks and Recreation and a local Glenns Ferry winery to reduce crop loss due to depredating deer

Crop losses continue to occur at a local vineyard from a small herd of urban mule deer in Glenns Ferry. The urban deer have been depredating on the grape crop despite repeated deterrence efforts.
