Remainder of Lower Salmon River set to close for Chinook fishing June 26

Fishing for Chinook salmon on the remainder of the Lower Salmon River will be closed effectively Sunday, June 26 at the end of fishing hours. This closure is for the portion of the Lower Salmon River from the Hammer Creek boat ramp upstream to the uppermost boat ramp at Vinegar Creek.

Giant trout stocked in Kid’s Creek Pond in Salmon

Over 90 super-sized trout, which average seven pounds, were stocked in Kid’s Creek Pond on Thursday, June 16.

F&G Commission approves summer Chinook seasons to start June 18

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission met via conference call and approved the proposed summer Chinook salmon seasons for the South Fork Salmon and Upper Salmon rivers as well as the Lochsa River. The seasons are set to open Saturday, June 18 and will remain open seven days a week until harvest goals are achieved.
