Clinic will provide great practice for upcoming youth pheasant hunt this fall
Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game, Lemhi Rifle Range, and Bud Salsbury will host a Youth Shotgun Skills Clinic August 10-12 in Salmon.
Bud Salsbury is an avid upland bird hunter, champion dog handler, and student of Matt Dryke, an Olympic Gold medalist in sporting clays. This clinic will help youth develop shotgun marksmanship and provide experience for success in the field.
The workshop is for youth, ages 12 to 16 who have successfully completed a hunter education course. Participants will receive one-on-one instruction and guidance on shotgun shooting essentials.
The clinic consists of one evening of instruction at the Fish and Game office and two days of shooting at the Lemhi County Gun Range.
Clay targets and ammunition are provided. Advanced registration is required, either in- person or online. The cost of the class is $8.00 when registering in-person at the IDFG office, or $9.75 if registering online on Fish and Game’s website.
Proof of hunter education certification is required by showing a hunter education card or a 2023 hunting license.
