Public comment now open for proposed rules, including hunting big game animals with bait, spearfishing, and more

Public comment opportunity is open Oct. 2-23

Idaho Fish and Game has opened a public comment period for the following proposed rules:

  1. Rules Governing Use of Bait for Hunting Big Game Animals
  2. Rules Governing Mandatory Education, Mentored Hunting, and Shooting Ranges
  3. Rules Governing Taking of Wildlife
  4. Rules Governing Fish, Fishing Methods and Gear

Written comments will be accepted Oct. 2-23 using the “Submit a petition or comment” link on each rule page above. 

Department staff will evaluate all comments submitted and provided by the public in conjunction with staff recommendations and build the pending rule to be voted on by the Commission during the November meeting in Salmon. The public will have one final opportunity to weigh in on the recommended pending rules at the Commission’s public meeting on Nov. 6.
