A third elk was found on Monday morning, January 4 near mile marker 7 on the Reubens-Gifford highway in Nez Perce County.
Two cow elk were initially located in the field, shot and left to waste approximately 350 yards from the roadway.
The third cow elk was found shot and left to waste, just like the other two.
No elk season is currently open to hunters and the individuals who shot these elk took no edible meat.
Fish and Game urges those with information to please come forward. Anyone providing information leading to the poachers may be eligible for a sizeable monetary reward.
