idfg-nnokkentved
Idaho Fish and Game will host a trophy species open house from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, January, 13 at the Jerome regional office, 324 South 417 East, Highway 93 Business Park. Sportsmen can also attend a chili cook-off and feed on the same evening from 6:30 to 9 p.m. "We have several proposed changes for the Magic Valley Region as well as other parts of the state that we would like sportsmen to comment on," said Randy Smith, regional wildlife manager. Proposed changes to trophy species rules in the Magic Valley Region include:
  • Increasing California bighorn sheep permits in Hunt Area 46 (Jarbidge and Bruneau rivers) from three to five.
  • Adding a new antlered moose hunt with five permits to include Units 55, 56, and 57 in one hunt area.
  • Eliminating the antlerless moose hunts in Hunt Areas 44 and 48.
  • Combining antlered moose Hunt Areas 44 and 48 into one hunt area and reducing total permits from six to three.
  • No changes are proposed for mountain goat seasons.
For more information on the open house, call the Magic Valley regional office at 324-4359.
