Idaho Fish and Game

Trophy Species Controlled Hunt Prices Have Changed

idfg-mcoleman
The prices of tags and applications for controlled hunts for moose, mountain goat and bighorn sheep are incorrect in the current rules brochure. The controlled hunt permit fee was dropped last year after publication of the 2009-2010 Moose, Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat Rules brochure, and the nonresident tag fees were changed. The correct total cost, which includes the tag fee and controlled hunt application fee, is $173 for residents, $2,116.50 for nonresidents. Only tag fees will be refunded to unsuccessful applicants. Hunting license fees and application fees - $6.25 for residents and $14.75 for nonresidents - will not be refunded. Unsuccessful resident applicants will receive a refund of $166.75; unsuccessful nonresident applicants will receive a refund of $2,101.75. Applicants for controlled hunts for moose, mountain goat or bighorn sheep may apply for only one species. Each applicant must have a valid 2010 Idaho hunting or combination license to apply for a controlled hunt. Hunters have through April 30 to apply for these hunts. Apply at Fish and Game offices or license vendors or use a credit card by telephone or over the Internet. Telephone applications may be made at 1-800-554-8685; Internet users may apply through Fish and Game's Website at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/buy_online. A service charge is added to telephone and Internet applications. Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than April 30.
