Spring Bear Hunting Is Now Closed In Parts Of Upper Snake Region, But Will Remain Open Until June 15th Starting Next Year!
IDAHO FALLS – Recent changes to future bear hunting regulations for the Upper Snake Region have caused some confusion with hunters. The 2017 spring bear season for units 64, 65, 66, 66A, 67, 69, 76 in eastern and southeastern Idaho ended on June 7. Page 70 of the current Idaho Big Game 2017 and 2018 Seasons and Rules clearly shows that the spring bear hunt has been extended through June 15, starting in 2018. That last part is key! The new season end date doesn’t take effect until Spring 2018.
For information about Big Game hunts coming up this fall, including those for black bear, refer to the latest Idaho Big Game Seasons and Rules which can also be found at license vendors or online at https://idfg.idaho.gov/rules/big-game.
