Snowmobile Season Extended on Craig Mountain

With recent snow and cool temperatures delaying the return of big game to higher elevations, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game is extending the snowmobile season on the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area until April 2nd, two weeks past the posted closure of March 15th. Gates will be closed on April 2nd to reduce disturbance of game animals and provide security to wild turkeys during the spring season that begins on April 15. Snowmobile recreationists are urged to use caution. Hazards, such as stumps and rocks are rapidly appearing, and travel is becoming difficult with the snow becoming very soft by afternoon.
