Recent Bear, Lion Season Changes Effective Fall 2010

idfg-nnokkentved
Black bear and mountain lion hunters are reminded that season changes recently adopted by the Idaho Fish and Game Commission do not go into effect until fall 2010. These changes, designed to allow additional hunting opportunity, involve allowing electronic calls to hunt black bear and mountain lions in the Lolo and Selway elk management zones; extending the mountain lion season to June 30, 2011 in the Lolo and Selway zones; and increasing the bag limit to two lions in the Lolo Zone. Big game seasons are adopted annually by the Fish and Game Commission in March for seasons that take place during the upcoming fall and the spring of the next year. As a result, all information concerning the 2010 spring bear and lion seasons can be reviewed in the 2009 Big Game Rules Booklet. For more information on bear and lion hunting in Idaho, contact your nearest Fish and Game office or the Web site at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov.
