Public Meeting Set on Vehicle-Wildlife Safety

Idaho Fish and Game has scheduled a public meeting about a proposed long-term project to reduce vehicle-wildlife collisions on Warm Springs Avenue and State Highway 21.
The meeting will be from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, in the Trophy Room at Idaho Fish and Game headquarters in Boise.
A multi-agency effort is working on project proposals to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions on these two stretches of roadway. This collaborative effort would improve traffic and wildlife safety by a variety of methods including identifying possible wildlife crossings.
The public meeting will:
¥ Provide background information concerning the wildlife-highway mortality problem on Warm Springs Avenue and State Highway 21.
¥ Present application activities the multi-agency group is preparing for a federal transportation enhancement funding application.
¥ Gather public comment on the group's proposed application.
¥ Provide the opportunity for a question, answer, and discussion period.
¥ Explore public interest for developing a longer-term collaboration effort for reducing the wildlife-highway mortality problem on Warm Springs Avenue and State Highway 21.
