Pheasant Youth Hunt Slated

First time bird hunters have a chance to learn from the experts at an upcoming pheasant youth hunt sponsored by the Canyon County Chapter of Pheasants Forever. Designed for first-time bird hunters of any age, the event will be held at Idaho Sporting Clays and Game Birds in Homedale on Saturday October 14. "Persons with little or no field experience shooting shotguns and hunting upland birds are encouraged to attend," event spokesman Barney Harper noted. To register for the event, contact Harper at 454-9551. There is no cost to attend and lunch will be served. Participants will receive shooting instruction during an accuracy workshop followed by supervised pheasant hunting. "Folks are welcome to bring their favorite shotgun to the event," Harper said. "We'll also have shotguns available for participants to use." For more information or to register for the hunt, contact Harper at 454-9551.
