All nonresident deer and elk tags are now sold out for the year, 2019 tags go on sale Dec. 1

Fish and Game has sold out of all its nonresident/second deer and elk tags with the final white-tailed deer tags selling out on Oct. 15. Nonresidents who want to ensure they get a general deer or elk tag for next year can start buying 2019 nonresident licenses and deer and elk tags starting Dec. 1.

Hunters have been buying nonresident/second tags at a faster rate than in the past, and elk, general deer and whitetail deer tags all sold out about a month earlier than in 2017. Nonresident deer tags have sold out annually since 2015, and elk tags also sold out in 2017.

Nonresidents are limited to 14,000 general deer tags, 1,500 whitetailed deer tags, and 12,185 elk tags. After Aug. 1, those tags are also available to residents and nonresidents as second tags.
