Nampa Sub-Region Canals Open for Salvage

Idaho Fish and Game Director Virgil Moore has signed an order allowing salvage of fish from irrigation canals and ditches in the Nampa Sub-Region. The order is limited to Ballentyne, Black Canyon A-Line, Black Canyon, Boise City, Boise valley, Bolton, Caldwell Highline, Campbell, Canyon County, Deer Flat Low Line, Emmett, Farmers Co-op, Farmers Union, Galloway, Island Highline, Last Chance, Lower Payette, McConnel Island, Middle Line, Sebree, Settlers, Siebenber, Sunnyside, Thurman Mill, Waldvogel, Washoe, and Weeks canals and ditches within those portions of Boise, Payette, Snake and Weiser Rivers that also lie in the Nampa Sub-Region. These waterways are being shut down, and will eventually go dry. In these waters, bag, possession and size limits are removed effective October 3, 2014 through November 15, 2014. Fish may be taken by any method except firearms, explosives, chemicals or electric current. Sturgeon may not be retained, and must be immediately released unharmed. Anglers are asked to report any sturgeon seen in these waters to the Southwest Regional Fish and Game office at 208-465-8465.
