Mule Deer Poached in Bern Hills

On Friday, July 6, Idaho Fish and Game conservation officers investigated the apparent poaching of a mule deer buck in the Bern Hills in Bear Lake County. The deer was killed on the evening of July 5 after several hours of rain. It was shot from the road with a small caliber rifle and left to waste. Officers suspect someone was hunting squirrels and shot the deer for target practice. Officers are seeking any information on this or other poaching incidents.
