Military, Police May be Exempt from Hunter Ed Live Fire

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission has approved an exemption to the live fire exercise of the Fish and Game hunter education program. The exemption allows active, former or retired members of the U.S. armed forces or active, former or retired police officers to be exempt from the practical firearm handling and shooting requirement of the hunter education program if they received training in firearms handling and shooting through the armed forces or as a peace officer. To be exempt, qualifying individuals must present a signed affidavit to their hunter education instructor during the class.
