idfg-mcoleman
The Sagebrush-steppe Chapter of the Idaho Master Naturalist Program in Boise is starting a new class in January. Registration is open now. The Idaho Master Naturalist Program is a volunteer program for adults interested in learning about nature and volunteering their time to teach others about nature and perform conservation work. Classes will be from 9 a.m. to noon most Tuesdays from January 15 to mid-April. Meeting locations vary, but will usually be at the MK Nature Center, the Idaho Botanical Garden or the Foothills Learning Center. There will be occasional Saturday field trips. To become certified in the program, participants complete 40 hours of provided education classes, field trips, lectures and activities. In addition, participants volunteer 40 hours of conservation work for a variety of organizations. The program costs $150, but upon certification, the participant will get half of that money back. Anyone interested in learning more about Idaho's natural world and who enjoys volunteering their time to the conservation of Idaho's natural resources, should consider joining the Idaho Master Naturalist Program. Please contact Sara Focht at MK Nature Center at sara.focht@idfg.idaho.gov or 208-287-2906 for more information or to receive the registration packet.
