Idaho Fish and Game

Leftover Permits Available July 16

idfg-staff
Deer and elk permits which were not issued in the recent controlled hunt drawing will go on sale, first come, first served, at all hunting and fishing license vendors Monday, July 16. They are not available over the phone or internet. To get an even start in both Idaho time zones, sales will begin at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time and 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The previously 1 date would have fallen on a Sunday, so the Fish and Game Commission changed it to a regular work day, when more vendors will be open to serve the public. A proxy buyer may make the purchase for a hunter who is not able to get to a vendor when the sale starts. The best way to do it is to fill out the controlled hunt worksheet/application on page 17 of the rule book, entering the hunt number, name and license number, and take it to the vendor. A person can make purchases for up to four. Hunters should make sure the person doing the buying knows the next choice hunt in case the first choice is sold out. The cost will be (per person) $6.50 per application and $6.50 per permit, plus the price of the tag. No bear, antelope or turkey permits were left over. The list of available controlled hunts is online at: http://www2.state.id.us/fishgame/hunt/ch/leftover.htm
