IDAHO FALLS – The Idaho Department of Fish & Game (IDFG) is in the process of scoping the public as they undertake setting seasons for trophy species (moose, mountain goat, and bighorn sheep) for 2017- 2018.  The public will have the opportunity to discuss with biologists their season suggestions at an open house scheduled for Monday, December 19th from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Upper Snake Region Office, 4279 Commerce Circle, in Idaho Falls.

The open house format allows visitors to drop by anytime during the day and visit with staff.  Currently, the only changes being considered in the region pertain to bighorn sheep, but other ideas could surface during the scoping process.

On December 12, a complete list of statewide season will be available on the IDFG website at https://idfg.idaho.gov/comment. Comments can be left online or mailed to: 2017-2018 Big Game MSG Species Season Proposals, PO Box 25, Boise, ID 83707. The deadline for comments is January 4, 2017.

All comments will be presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission prior to setting the seasons at their meeting in Boise on January 26.

Individuals unable to attend or with disabilities may request meeting accommodations by contacting Curtis Hendricks at curtis.hendricks@idfg.idaho.gov or 208-525-7290 or through the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-368-6185 (TDD).
