Idaho Fish and Game officials plan to stock 500 rainbow trout into Moscow's Hordemann Pond the week of October 14.
Located off Eisenhower Street between D and F streets, Hordemann Pond is a popular fishing destination for many young anglers. Many wildlife enthusiasts are attracted to this area to view the diversity of animals drawn to this unique water source. Great blue herons, osprey, turtles, and frogs are not uncommon sightings to the pond.
A license is required for anglers over 14 years of age. Fishing at Hordemann Pond is open year round and all other fishing regulations apply at this family fishing water body.
Consult your fishing rule booklet for more information. Fish stocking schedules, put-and-take management practices and seasonal high water temperatures cause fishing opportunities to be limited throughout the year at Hordemann Pond. Catch rates increase during the months of April, May, October and November as the pond temperatures tend to be better suited for trout survival during the early spring and fall.
