The Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee's annual winter meeting will be January 19 and 20 in Missoula, Montana. The multi-agency committee is responsible for grizzly bear recovery in the continental United States and adjacent Canadian provinces. The meeting will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn at 3720 North Reserve Street. The session start at 9:30 a.m. on January 19, and at 8 a.m. on January 20. The public is invited to attend and a public comment period will be provided at the end of each day. The Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee was created in 1983 to lead the effort to recover the grizzly bear in the lower 48 states. In June 2008, the committee celebrated its 25th anniversary. Committee members present at this meeting in Missoula will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding to reconfirm the original intent of the work begun in 1983 to recover the grizzly bear and remove it from the endangered species list. Individuals with disabilities may request meeting accommodations by contacting Gregg Losinski at 208-390-0635 or through the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-377-3529 (TDD).
