Fish and Game Seeks Help Solving Deer Poaching

idfg-nnokkentved
The Idaho Department Fish and Game is asking for help in determining who shot a whitetail doe near the intersection of Lenville Road and Miller Road south of Moscow around 6 p.m. Monday, June 6. Witnesses observed two males load the deer into an older model gray Ford pickup and quickly drive off. One of the suspects was carrying a rifle, and the pickup was covered in mud. When the witnesses arrived at the site, they discovered a newborn fawn alongside the road. The fawn has been given to a wildlife rehabilitator in Moscow. "People should be outraged," said Mike Dafoe, Fish and Game conservation officer based in Moscow. Anyone observing suspicious activity in this area or with information about this crime is encouraged to contact Officer Dafoe at 208-669-1024, the Fish and Game office in Lewiston at 208-799-5010 or the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5999. Callers may remain anonymous and will be eligible for a reward.
