F&G Seeks Comment on New Falconry Rules

idfg-mcoleman
Idaho Fish and Game is seeking public review and comment on new rules governing falconry in the state of Idaho. The proposed new falconry rules have been rewritten to bring state law into compliance with new federal falconry regulations, simplify and correct errors in existing rules, and streamline the permitting process for the practice of falconry in the state. Fish and Game will submit the proposed rules to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission for approval in July. Rules approved by the commission this summer would require legislative approval in 2010 before becoming effective in January 2011. Meanwhile, the existing rules for falconry in Idaho will remain in effect until the new rules become effective in 2011. The proposed changes are available from regional Fish and Game offices and the Fish and Game Website at: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/public/. Comments may be entered on the Website or mailed to IDFG Wildlife Bureau, Draft Falconry Rules, P.O. Box 25, Boise ID 83707. All comments are due by June 30. For additional information, contact wildlife managers at Idaho Fish and Game at 208-334-2920 or local Fish and Game offices.
