F&G Commission Extends Steelhead Season

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission Thursday, april 28, extended the steelhead season on the Upper Salmon River. Commissioners approved a Fish and Game recommendation to extend the steelhead season closing date from April 30 to May 15 this year for the section of the upper Salmon River from Salmon to Sawtooth Hatchery south of Stanley. The fishery extends from the cable car crossing at the USGS flow gauging station, about 150 yards downstream of Island Park in Salmon, upstream to a posted boundary about 100 yards downstream of the weir at Sawtooth Hatchery south of Stanley. All other limits and rules would be unchanged from the 1 2011-2012 Fishing Seasons and Rules, available at license vendors, Fish and Game offices and online at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/fish/steelhead/.
