idfg-mcoleman
Children and adults will get active, have fun and play at dozens of free events offered April 20-27 for the third annual Unplug and Be Outside week. Go for a hike, try fishing, take a bike ride, play in a park, make a painting or participate in many other activities at locations throughout the Treasure Valley. Idaho Fish and Game's "Take-Me-Fishing" trailer will be on hand at various locations as well. Unplug and Be Outside is designed to inspire and empower families to get off the couch and get active. The annual program is hosted by the statewide Be Outside, Idaho! coalition, Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health, and partner organizations. Be Outside, Idaho! partners include Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Boise Parks & Recreation, Let's Move Boise, Idaho Foundation for Parks & Lands, National Park Service, Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Idaho Department of Education, Meridian and Nampa Parks and Recreation Departments. Our media partner is KTVB News Channel 7. Win a prize! Children who collect more than one sticker on a passport card will be entered into a drawing for fishing rods, backpacks, an Idaho State Parks pass, goody bags, bandanas and more. For a list of events, please see www.unplugandbeoutside.com.
