Angler effort on the upper Salmon River was low during the last week of November.
Almost all anglers were observed fishing downstream of North Fork in location code 15, and anglers interviewed in this area averaged 17 hours per steelhead caught. Anglers interviewed in the other river location codes did not report catching a steelhead.
The Salmon River at Salmon is currently flowing at 1,050 cfs which is 86 percent of average for today’s date. On Sunday, water temperatures were in the low 30s in all areas, and the river had clear visibility.
