Ask Fish and Game: Controlled Hunt Permits?

Q. My girlfriend and I were successful and drew bull moose permits our tags showed up in the mail, but there wasn't a permit. Do we need to buy one or is the tag all we need? A. The tag is all you need, besides a valid hunting license, and rifle and good aim. A couple of strong friends who enjoy packing meat doesn't hurt either. Fish and Game has done away with the controlled hunt permit, except for the turkey controlled hunt. When a hunter enters any other controlled hunt drawing and is drawn, he or she gets a tag. No permit is required.
