Clearwater River Basin - Lochsa -Summer Chinook seasons and limits
Idaho Fish and Game would like your input on how you would like the Clearwater River basin’s summer Chinook Salmon fishery to be managed.
Comments will be accepted through March 1.
The 2025 summer Chinook Salmon run to the Lochsa River is forecasted to provide a harvest share of around 33 adults (these fish don’t have a clipped adipose fin). Additionally, over 500 spring Chinook Salmon are forecasted to return to the Lochsa River (these fish have a clipped adipose fin). To take advantage of both returns, a small fishery could be proposed to the commission with the following details:
Fishing four (4) days a week (Thr-Sun)
A daily limit of four (4) salmon with no more than one(1) being an adult
Season opens in late June
Both adipose clipped and unclipped fish can be harvested
