About the position
The two trailer technicians hired for this position will haul the IDFG Take Me Fishing Trailer to various water bodies located in Southwest Idaho (mostly around Boise and Meridian), to provide aquatic education/angling education instruction for local elementary school students, in collaboration with school teachers.
General Information
Work schedule is every Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., between April 6 and May 21, as well as May 9 and June 13.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required; must be at least 18 years old. Must possess a valid driver’s license from any state.
Applicants should have knowledge of life history, anatomy, and general ecology of common Idaho aquatic species.

Responsibilities
The technicians will provide students with 30-45 minutes of angling instruction (species identification, knot tying, casting, etc.), assist students with fishing activities, and perform rod maintenance during each event.
Will also be responsible for staffing the trailer and checking out fishing rods for public-facing events that primarily take place on Saturdays.
Rods must also be repaired/maintained between events. Paperwork for each event must also be meticulously maintained. Applicants should be comfortable with hooking-up, hauling, and backing a 12-foot trailer.
Depending upon availability of hours at the end of the fishing trailer season, technicians may be asked to assist with fisheries management-related projects.
