Standard Stream Survey

The Standard Stream Survey database was developed by a team of Idaho Department of Fish and Game Fishery Biologists to hold fish and stream habitat data collected using a standard format.

This database has been used in production since 1985. The consistent format of these data allows for better comparisons between similar bodies of water or comparisons of the same body of water over time. These data may be used to observe changes in fish composition and distribution throughout a drainage. This database may also be used to follow the changes in stream habitat such as substrate composition, water depth, and number of pools, riffles, runs, and pocket water.
