Lifetime License Certificates
Regardless of your age, the purchase of a lifetime license could be the best investment you ever make. Lifetime combination hunting and fishing licenses authorize all privileges associated with a corresponding annual license.
These licenses are valid for the lifetime of the license holder and are available to all residents of the state of Idaho and can only be purchased at IDFG offices.
Adults (2 years to 50 years)
Infant (Newborn to 1 year)
Senior (51 years or more)
For minors purchasing a lifetime license:
- Minors under the age of fourteen (14) must provide a certified copy of their birth certificate.
- Minors under the age of eighteen (18) must either present their Idaho Driver's License/Identification Card, or proof of Idaho residency from one parent or legal guardian.

Residency requirements
With the introduction of our new 3-year licenses, you will only need to complete this certification once every 3 years, unless you choose to have an annual license issued or if you choose to purchase an annual resident Sportsman’s Package instead. The 3-year licenses are valid for 3 calendar years and expire on December 31st of the third year. Please note that if you are the holder a resident 3-year license and you move outside of Idaho during the life of that license, your resident license will need to be exchanged for a nonresident license.
