Explore Snow Peak Wildlife Management Area

idfg-vosborn

Snow Peak Wildlife Management Area is a backcountry hunting and fishing destination. It takes a bit of effort to get to the main trailhead but once you arrive there are fifty miles of trail to explore this rugged and exclusively non-motorized WMA.

The primary goal of Snow Peak management is improving year-round elk habitat. In the last five years, fires have created new openings to increase browse availability on approximately 2,000 acres of the WMA. Fish and Game and volunteers maintain the trails for hikers and horses.

Summer and early fall are ideal times to scout the extensive terrain. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to fish the pristine Little North Fork of the Clearwater River and hunt for huckleberries.

The vision for the WMA is to protect and manage wildlife habitats and to provide high quality non-motorized backcountry recreational opportunities.  Learn more about Snow Peak WMA on the Fish and Game website.
